Yahrzeit Candle
“Only guard yourself and guard your soul carefully, lest you forget the things your eyes saw, and lest these things depart your heart all the days of your life. And you shall make them known to your children, and to your children's children.”—Deuteronomy 4:9
The words on this Yahrzeit candle holder can also be found in the Museum’s Hall of Remembrance, where an eternal flame burns in memory of Holocaust victims. According to Jewish custom, Yahrzeit candles are lit on the anniversary of a loved one’s death, as well as on certain holidays. They are intended to be long burning; the candle included with this frosted glass holder burns for approximately 24 hours. The candle holder also displays the Museum’s logo and will accommodate a standard-size refill candle.
