This replica set of five pin-back buttons is based on artifacts in our recent temporary exhibition, Americans and the Holocaust.
Following the outbreak of World War II in Europe in September 1939, polls suggested that 93 percent of Americans opposed the United States entering the war. After the country eventually entered the war in 1941, Americans used a variety of propaganda materials, including buttons, to support the war effort.
The original buttons were gifted to the Museum by James Robinson, Jr., Evelyn Lauder, and David Heck.
Buttons can also be purchased individually.
